#120 Goal-Setting: The Art and Science of Making Better Goals
Goal setting is an art and a science, but there are frameworks you can use.
The one I find most effective is called the PACT framework. It works well for a few reasons.
- Accountability: The Pact Framework emphasizes the importance of creating a public commitment to your goal by sharing it with others. This creates a sense of accountability that can motivate you to stay on track and make progress towards your goal.
- Incremental progress: The Pact Framework also emphasizes the importance of setting small, achievable goals that lead to incremental progress over time. This helps to build momentum and confidence, making it easier to stick to your goal over the long term.
- Flexibility: The Pact Framework is flexible and adaptable, allowing you to adjust your goals as needed based on feedback and changing circumstances. This helps to ensure that your goals remain relevant and achievable, even in the face of unexpected challenges.
